Pediatric Chiropractic Care
Gentle, safe chiropractic care for infants, children, and teens. Supporting healthy development from day one.
Many parents are surprised to learn that chiropractic care is safe—and beneficial—for children of all ages, including newborns. Pediatric chiropractic uses gentle techniques specifically designed for growing bodies, supporting healthy spinal development and addressing common childhood issues naturally.
Gentle & Safe
Pediatric chiropractic adjustments are nothing like adult adjustments. We use extremely gentle techniques—often just light fingertip pressure—that are appropriate for your child's age and size. Most children enjoy their visits!
Why Children Benefit from Chiropractic Care
Physical Stresses of Childhood
From birth through adolescence, children experience many physical stresses that can affect spinal health:
- Birth process (especially difficult deliveries)
- Learning to hold up head, sit, crawl, walk
- Falls and tumbles while learning motor skills
- Heavy backpacks for school
- Poor posture from screens and devices
- Sports and physical activities
- Growth spurts affecting alignment
The Nervous System Connection
The spine protects the nervous system, which controls every function in your child's body. When the spine is misaligned:
- Nerve communication can be disrupted
- Immune function may be affected
- Sleep patterns can be disturbed
- Digestive issues may develop
- Development may not be optimal
- Pain and discomfort can occur
Chiropractic helps ensure the spine is aligned so the nervous system can function optimally.

Pediatric Chiropractic FAQs
Is chiropractic care safe for children?
Yes, chiropractic care is very safe for children of all ages, including infants. Pediatric adjustments use extremely gentle techniques—often just light fingertip pressure. Children's spines are more flexible and responsive than adults, so adjustments are modified accordingly.
At what age can a child see a chiropractor?
Children can be seen from birth. Many parents have their newborns checked after delivery, especially after difficult births or C-sections. The birth process itself can cause spinal stress. Of course, infant adjustments are incredibly gentle—nothing like adult adjustments.
Why would a child need chiropractic care?
Children experience physical stresses from birth trauma, learning to walk, falls, sports, heavy backpacks, poor posture (screens!), and growth spurts. Chiropractic helps ensure proper spinal development and can address issues like colic, ear infections, sleep problems, and growing pains.
What conditions can pediatric chiropractic help with?
Common conditions include colic, reflux, nursing difficulties, ear infections, sleep issues, bedwetting, growing pains, posture problems, sports injuries, headaches, ADHD symptoms, and general wellness. We address the nervous system, which affects many body functions.
How are pediatric adjustments different from adult adjustments?
Pediatric adjustments use very gentle, specific techniques. For infants, we use sustained fingertip contact with pressure similar to checking a ripe tomato. For older children, adjustments are still gentler than adult techniques and often use special instruments. There's no twisting or "cracking."
How often do children need to see a chiropractor?
This depends on the child and the reason for care. Acute issues may need several visits close together. For wellness care, many families bring their children monthly or at key developmental stages. We create individualized recommendations based on your child's needs.
Will my child be scared of the adjustment?
Most children enjoy their visits! We take time to explain everything in kid-friendly terms, let them see instruments, and make it fun. Many kids don't even realize they've been adjusted. We never force anything—if a child isn't ready, we adapt.
Can chiropractic help with my child's posture from devices?
Yes, "text neck" and poor posture from screens is increasingly common in children. Chiropractic can address the spinal stress this causes and we provide guidance on proper ergonomics, stretches, and screen time habits.
